Welcome to the Junior Section of Kent Poultry Club
Here
you will find out lots of information and fun specific to younger
members. This month features and article from Jordan Tompsett on his
experience at the KPC.--------------
Jordan Writes;I have been a junior member of the Kent Poultry Club for around 3 years and have noticed that the club has certainly grown in this time. During those three years I have made many friends in the club and been able to help out and become more involved as time has gone on. In February of this year, I really experienced that due to the fact that I was asked to be the photographer for the February show. This gave me real joy; not only had I been included, but had a real role that I saw through and accomplished. I gained great satisfaction from this role.

The February show was a great success, having over 100 people attend, the show quality of the birds was great, and there were some good laughs and memories taken away from that show. Of course, at this show I got to demonstrate my photography skills, which was an amazing feeling. I walked away knowing I had helped the club in some way.

I love going to the shows, as it helps me learn more about poultry, and what I need to do to achieve a better show quality bird, I have taken much advice, from judges and people who know about showing and have learnt what is needed for a “good bird”. I have entered several shows, being placed closely behind some good members who show on a regular basis. I have defiantly grown from this club, not only in knowing about poultry, but also my confidence to be able to put my feelings across; being one of few junior members is a treat, so if you can, join in and become a member.
